The deserted beach covered in a golden glow emitted by the setting sun looks breathtaking as I walk along the shore with my Dad. His hand is firmly holding mine. He's scared I'll get lost if he lets go.
But he's listening to me as I talk away, trying to convince him that I'm old enough to take care of a pet! He gives occasional comments about how cats and dogs shed, and how I'll have to feed them and clean after them. But I don't let the topic drop.
Just then we notice another man walking towards us. When he got close enough, he shook my Dad's hand. He was a good friend of my Dad's. But he didn't look familiar. He asks us to join him for dinner and we accept.
The next thing I know, we're in this really huge closed up space. In the center is a huge pool. My Dad and I are confused. Why would someone have a pool so close to the beach? My Dad's friend notices our puzzled faces and asks us to take a closer look. I held onto my Dad's hand as we walk towards the pool.
And then I saw them!! In the pool were a baby dolphin and a baby killer whale!! They looked adorable! As I was admiring them, I overheard my Dad's friend saying that he was selling them. $1000 bucks for both. I look at my Dad and give him my sad puppy face. At first my Dad objects. But after a lot of pursuing, he gives in. I'm the official owner of the dolphin and whale!
I notice a bucket of little fish on the side, and start feeding them. At first, I'm scared when they jump out of the water to eat the fish. Then I notice the dolphin smiling. They love me. I didn't have to be scared. I feed them, stroke their noses and shower every bit of love I have on them.
My Dad's friend walks in. He has to sell the pool. He's moving and he needs to sell the area. But that would mean I'll have to give up my pets. This can't be happening. I'm just getting to know them. I can't lose them now.
And I wake up.
